Here are what our members said about Breakthru Fitness…

Dear Michelle:

I just wanted to say thank you....I really feel very proud of myself for finishing peak 10....For me it was about showing up....following direction....and learning as much as I could from you and your amazing staff. You are truly an inspiration and I am looking forward to the next peak. I feel the next time I will be able to put more effort into the diet part of the program....I still have challenges is that area of my life, but know without a doubt that I will overcome them. Meeting Sonia Has been a blessing ....she is a incredible woman and friend and she guided me to Breakthru fitness. I have been to many gyms in my life, but have never experienced the personal care....education and support that I feel from you and your Breakthru family....I can't say enough about Yalda....Gary....and Sonia.....Thanks Again.....Terri Rink

I am sending you a bill for $140. "Why, you ask?" That is how much I just spent at the tailor having my clothes TAKEN IN after my fabulous Peak 10 experience. It may have ended in May, but I'm keepin' it off baby. Thanks a million.

Peak 10 is by far the most fun and most effective workout I've ever done. Going into the program I was really worried about bulking up since the workouts are very challenging and the weights are quite heavy. But I still did the workouts as Michelle instructed them, and to my surprise I got smaller! Peak 10 is so much fun, and I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to take their workout to the next level, lose weight, and lean down.

When I was asked to do Peak 10 I took it as a way to challenge myself which reminded me of when I was a teenager and used to train competitively for ice hockey. I pushed myself to the max, or shall I say to the "Peak." It was tough but it was worth it. When I played my first hockey game after a few weeks of Peak training, my stamina had already improved a lot and I was in better shape than those 20 year olds on the teams!

When I started Peak 10 I didn't really have any expectations having been sick for a few years and still battling the residual symptoms from the illness. The first few weeks were really tough for me but as the weeks went on and I got stronger and stronger, I was so elated as I realized I was getting back to my usual shape and was returning to my normal strength and energy level! With every kick, jump and sweat drop I was overcoming what I had had to endure for a long time. Thank you Michelle, I couldn't have done it without you.

This program was LIFE CHANGING for me! I have always exercised regularly and in a way that I thought was challenging. But, Peak pushed me in ways I've never experienced before - the intensity was extreme! I started the program not thinking I needed to lose weight, so I set a goal of losing 8 pounds (1 pound a week) and I actually lost 10! I also lost inches in my hips, waist and thighs that I'd been trying to lose for years! I have never looked or felt better.

I loved the workouts. I burned more calories in that hour than I did in my 75 minute spin class or any other classes I'd taken. Plus, I was burning higher for hours after the Peak 10 classes. The workouts never got "easier" because I could always increase the weights in cardio strength or push harder in the plyometrics..

Finally, people ask me all the time how I did it. It was NOT easy. I had to make sacrifices, especially with food choices. The exerspy was so helpful because I knew my calorie burn and therefore how much I could eat. The bottom line for me was discipline. Eating less and working out more efficiently - that's how I did it! It was SO worth it! Thanks Michelle!

I’m what you can call a gym rat. I’ve been around gyms for a loooonnnggg time. One of the things I’ve always heard from trainers is that eating is 80% of our success when it comes to fitness. Peak 10 is the first program that got the eating part down to a science. Just because I know how to eat to be fit doesn’t mean I do it. There were a few key things said about food that really kicked me into fat loss. Michelle had written an email and reminded us that “we eat more than we think.” Very true. So, as I began to track my food and record it, the personal responsibly went to another level. Weighing in and recording results was also key to success. I was thrilled to lose 11 lbs…a lb to 1 ½ pounds weekly. I exceeded my 10 lb loss goal. Yea!!

The workouts were intense but I loved it. I felt my endurance and strength increase over the weeks. I also saw myself shrink and get defined muscles. My arms look so much better and I lost a whopping 5 inches in my waste! This was particularly helpful for me because I had a timely surf safari to Mexico planned at the end of the program. Surfing is an intense and difficult sport. I’m not young either. Peak 10 gave me the confidence, strength and endurance to perform in the ocean. My instructors commented on how strong of a swimmer I was, paddling ahead of the others to catch a wave. Also, it was affirming to hear people that I work with and am around all the time notice the results as well. I believe the cardio/circuit combo really worked.

Shel D.

It’s intense, it’s hardcore and it’s also a lot of fun. I thought I was fairly fit before I started the program, but these workouts challenged me to push myself harder and farther than I thought possible. My cardio fitness and muscular endurance grew by leaps and bounds. The results exceeded my greatest expectations – I’ve lost 20lbs, am down two pant sizes, and have had to practically buy a new wardrobe. I never imagined that I could ever be this lean or strong and am still amazed at what I have been able to physically accomplish with this program. If you’re looking for something to push yourself to the next level, this is it!

Amber Z.

Peak is the real deal! I am an aerobics instructor who had found it challenging to break through the last fitness plateau. With Michelle’s amazing motivation I was able to workout harder than I ever have before. I proved to myself that determination and consistency will pay off. As a result my body feels better than ever inside and out!

Kathy B.

I never believed I could have achieved the results I did. I thought I was as thin as I could get without crazy fad diets...and I got thinner! I thought I had stamina...and run a full minute a mile faster when I run now! I thought I was strong...and went from lifting 8-10 pound weights to lifting 12 pound weights! PeakFit Challenge is unbelievable!!!

Debbie E.

This is my third Peak session and one of the most enjoyable. Enjoyable you ask..... not because of weight loss or body fat but because this time around I was true to my commitment. This Peak session coincided with one of the most stressful times in my life and without these workouts I don't know how I would have survived. Regardless of how I felt at 5:45 am I was there and ready to move leaving each workout feeling healthy and energized.

There is something very special about seeing the same faces week after week and watching bodies transform. We are an amazing team, supporting and motivating one another. At the end of 8 weeks we were all jumping higher, squatting deeper and moving a little faster all in unison like a wonderful dance. As my class ended today I had a similar feeling to a school year ending. Relieved that I made it, anxious about my next plan and excited about doing it all over again. My body is leaner, stronger and more powerful than it was 8 weeks ago and this I credit Peak 10 and the wonderful staff at Breakthru Fitness for keeping me motivated.

Thank you all

Dear Michelle -
Participating in the Peak 10 Challenge has been one of the most physically and mentally intense experiences of my adult life. It has also been one of the most rewarding. The program was harder than I could have ever imagined, but it pushed me beyond what I thought I would ever be able to do. I’m in my mid-forties and I am stronger and more fit overall than I’ve been since my 20’s. I can’t tell you what a great feeling it is to have that back!! And thank you for all the encouragement and advice you gave me on how to not lose it all going forward.

The program also gave me the tools I need to finally understand the diet side of things. I have struggled for the last 15 years (particularly when I hit 40) to figure out how to lose my excess weight and keep it off. I looked into so many different diets over the years and only got confused -- many of them sounded logical and scientifically sound, yet there seemed to be a lot of contradiction! And, of course, I never got any lasting results. The plan you’ve put together makes sense and it works. It’s taken the eight weeks to put it all together, but I can safely say that my relationship with food has changed and I don’t see myself eating any other way than the “Peak” way for the long term.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a life-altering experience!

Hi Michelle. I just wanted to say that I am so happy to have found such a great, motivating and inspirational gym. I was a member at a couple of gyms before I found Breakthru fitness and nothing compares to your gym. I love all the classes and the instructors are exceptional.

I never thought I would want to be working out 6 days a week doing double classes on some of those days. I am so addicted to working out now and it does not seem like a chore. I bring my 2 little boys to the gym with me and they love Luz. I never have to worry about them.

I had two really hard pregnancies. I was always really fit before I had my boys. I had gestational diabetes with both boys and really could not work out the way I love too. I became depressed during both pregnancies and had really bad anxiety. After I had my second son last October, I started working out as soon as the dr. said it was ok. I could not wait to come back to the gym and get fit again. I decided by doing the last peak 10 program it would be a great way to get be back into shape and to also lose my baby weight. Your gym has helped me get over my depression.

I have very high expectations for myself as to how I want to look. I am not there yet, but I am finally starting to see results. I see you and many other women at the gym who have had kids, and I know I can look as great as you girls also!

Sorry for such a long e-mail but I just wanted to let you know how inspirational and positive you are to me and many others. You are always friendly and smiling. You have such a great attitude! I tell everyone about your gym and how great it is.

Thank you so much again for having such a great gym!

Andrea

Phil and Michelle...

I want to congratulate you on a wonderful gym, and a wonderful staff! I had been a member at Equinox for a year and a half, and maybe worked out 5 times during that time? My life right now is super hectic, between kids, work and friends, and I *knew* that getting back into a routine of working out and committing to fitness goals was going to be ahuge challenge. Your gym, your classes and your staff have totally engaged me in a way that Equinox NEVER did! It's only been a month, but I've been to the gym at least 2-3 times every week. I don't feel like I'm dragging myself to the gym either - I WANT to be there!

I love the friendliness of your front desk staff. I love YOUR friendliness and the way you're always around to listen to members, problem solve, or just chat. I love the variety of classes offered at various convenient times of the day. I love Noel's spinning class (which I used to take at Bodies in Motion - he's a great instructor). I have also been working out with Yalda and she is INCREDIBLE! She's sweet, personable, inspirational and TOUGH! I could try to work towards my goals on my own (I'm not completely unknowledgeable), but she challenges me in a way I've never been challenged (not even running a marathon challenged me the way she does). I love the tools you guys offer, from the Exerspy, to the headbands you sell at the front.

The entire experience is fantastic and has really helped me recommit to working out and a healthy lifestyle.

Thanks a million!

Phil, Michelle and Kanda,

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know just how much I appreciate you for the extremely smooth transition during the remodel and expansion of the gym!  These are really exciting times as you transition us into a state of the art facility!

The classes, instructors and trainers at Breakthru are nothing short of fabulous. You offer something for all ages and ability levels.  I so appreciate the sense of community you build by creating an environment of care, concern, and friendship.  It took the entire Breakthru village of experts and members to bring me back to a status of robust and enthusiastic good health.

When I was in the L2W program (2X) with Aileen, Phil took the time to teach all of us the techniques and forms of spinning.  None of us would have the proper form and appreciate  the importance of connecting to the music for motivation. We are confident spinners because of Phil’s expertise and contagious enthusiasm!  Thank you for the diversity of spinning instructors who select from a broad range of music genre.  Most recently, Ron, who teaches on Thursday has introduced a crazy good playlist. I just love it!  It makes me feel like I can do anything! There are no lyrics until the end of his playlist, which allows me to really focus and not be distracted by words.  His playlist puts me in the center of an imaginary video that really fires me up to climb the steepest of hills!

Your efforts and energy have created the ultimate experience for its membership.  I am most grateful to you!

It’s Awesome!  The best club I’ve seen yet!!!

The club is definitely a great, intimate place. Overall, I do love Breakthru Fitness, it does feel like a family once you walk in and the staff tries to execute that feeling to its members.
I love the moderninity of the club, the great staff, the excellent class schedule.  Is well worth the money.  My only concern is when I am in phases where my job is taking a lot of hours, I can’t get to classes when I want to.  But this is the best gym I have been to in years.  Def the best in CA.
The best club I’ve ever belonged to
I miss the character of the old place. New place is great, but orientation to groups etc. is different.
I love the club, the classes, and the people.  I highly recommend this club to other people who are serious about their health and fitness.
So far so good.
Overall I would recommend the club to friends and family.  I enjoy the classes and there always seems to beplenty to choose from at the times I’m there.  The employees are exceptional and are very attentive to members.
Excellent. Couldn’t be happier.  Staff and classes are great.  The only comment I have is regarding the KickBoxing on Wednesday mornings at 5:45am.  Great instructor for private training but not for a group atmosphere.
I love the club.  It’s beautiful and functional.  I’m training with Mary Katherine and she is amazing.
I think it is a great facility.  The personnel at the front desk are always warm and friendly.  The friendliness ofsome of the trainers needs to improve.  I think they would acquire more cliental if they were more engaging.
I am a former PAC member so what appealed to me most was the smaller size of the club (compared to Equinox).  I take Phil’s 5:30 am spin class regularly and am happy to see that 6:30 am classes have been added, which eliminated overfill of Phil’s class.  Not having to arrive at 4:45 am is great.  Weekday early morning front desk staff is friendly and they always take time to learn members’ names.
I absolutely love your club.  It is the best club that has come into Pasadena and has long been needed.  Thank you Phil and Michele!
I love the “home town” feeling.  The staff is great and always there to help
So far-so-good … I have not gone as much as I planned on (of course!) but each time I’ve been there it is very nice & clean & I do like the small size of the gym.
the classes are great and it is very clean. the teaches are very professional. for spin i love suzanne. betsy’s wednesday class is great and i also love erin’s friday class. the personal training was pricey and did not get more from it than i can get in classes.
It’s a perfect fit for me. The instructors and people that work there are warm and helpful and not arrogant. Maybe like attracts like because I like the members as well. People are serious and enthusiastic about health but not in a shallow or arrogant way. I feel the staff cares and is willing to work with the clientelle…adjusting to our needs and wants. I like the look, feel, cleanliness, etc.
Overall good, but can get very crowded at times making it harder to get through workouts
I really enjoy coming to workout at Breakthru. I really enjoy that Michelle and Phil are very visible. Only two gyms come to mind when I think of owners that are visible and caring that I have been a part of: Breakthru and Classic Kickboxing in old town pasadena.I also like the friendly staff and the fact that the gym is small and very clean. I appreciate how clean it is. Thank you for a great gym and I look forward to the growth and changes that Breakthru will experience in the future.
I think it’s been a great alternative to Equinox.  Clean, state of the art machines, friendly staff, more personal-less corporate than Equinox, easy parking… and most important, less expensive.
Very nice, friendly, club.  Atmosphere makes me want to work out.  Lots of light; for people who care about fitness.
great club….atmosphere superb….great staff.(super attitude on everyone)….always trying to improve or upgrade to give members what they want
I think the club is the best I’ve seen anywhere.  I use to belong to Equinox and it was upscale and met my needs but it had a corporate feel to it.  I love the breakthru because it has everything I need but it still feels small and personable.  Michelle and Phil are always there making sure everything is alright and it really shows.  Way to go guys!
I really love this club! Michelle and Phil are fantastic owners, the front office staff are friendly and helpful, the other members are a really sweet bunch and the classes totally rock! I get a really well-rounded regime each week with the classes alone, something I love. Keep up the great work!!
Really enjoy all aspects of club…
I like the club very much, it is clean, well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful!
I really love coming to this club. You guys have done a great job making it top notch, but comfortable at the same time.
The staff is very warm and friendly.  Michelle D. is an excellent instructor–now if she could clone herself…As part of the introduction to new members, I would like to have a trainer help me set up a routine and take me through it so I could get started using the machines, weights, anything else to have a “routine” that helps me get  maximum benefit from the facility when I am on my own.
I haven’t used Parisi because my impression is that it’s just for kids. It doesn’t seem marketed to adults at all. You guys are all outstanding. I’ve been a client for years and would never think of going anywhere else.
I am so happy that I joined Breakthru Fitness.  It is such a clean, beautiful club that offers excellent fitness classes & a variety of top-notch equipment.  I think your point-of-difference is the personal touch your staff offers.  It’s so nice to be greeted by name in the morning & to have staff members say hello.  I have told many people how impressed I am.  You are doing a great job — keep it up!
Wish you had a steam room.
I love the club, more than I thought I would. i was a member of Equinox for 4 years and I never took as many classes as i do now. I took the circuit training class yesterday morning at 5:45 and I loved it. It was really challenging and the teacher was great (Tynan?) I think he was substituting. Most of the group classes have a dance/cheerleader vibe to them. It was refreshing to work out and not feel uncoordinated. I hope that in the future more classes like that would be available. Also I miss having a sauna. The dry heat feels great on sore muscles.  I love the location, I just wish there was one more classroom. Keep up the good work!
Breakthru has really helped me change my life.  I joined because of a recommendation from my doctor who is also a member.  She had just told me that she strongly suspected I have MS and I needed to get my body into top physical condition.  From the moment I walked in, everybody was so helpful and supportive and continue to be so today.  I am in the best shape of my life and have never felt better.  Breakthru is amazing place and I feel so lucky to have it my life.  Thank you!
Seems very good to me
I really like the facilities - very clean, open and airy, not too busy, modern equipment.  I feel like there are a lot of trainers doing nothing. I don’t like the loud music of the spin classes interrupting the “Zen” of the yoga classes, its pretty obnoxious.  I also wish there was a designated stretching area.  I feel like I am in everyone’s way(walkways) while I stretch.
I think the club is great! The staff is friendly, you should have more employees like Caitlyn at the front desk.
I wish you had some more equipment, such as: the inner and outer thigh machine (pls consider getting these), a few more ab machines.I think you should work on having the tv’s set to some different channels other than just the same five. And a better radio station. I’m not sure if you already have this but maybe a place where you can post and feature who the trainers are, etc.  A family package rate plan would be cool too.Other than that, its a great location, very easy to park, and I LOVE that it is never crowded.
I enjoy being a member of the club.  I think it’s priced fairly for the benefits that we receive.  I tend to use the club more in the early morning before work but I would love it if there was a later Spinning class in the evening – around 7 or 8 pm a couple of times a week.
Having been a member of Sports Club/LA from 91-97,as well as Equinox, Pasadena a year after they opened ( until 2 months ago) and also taking classes at in the 90′s at Martin Henry Studios, Voight Fitness, Spectrum ( Agoura Hills, Manhattan Beach) and Sport Connection ( S. Monica and W. hollywood), I feel I’ve been around enough to say this is by far the most personal, non intimidating, professional, clean, top notch gym I’ve ever been to!  Although I am not in the same shape or fitness level as I was back in the day when I was a  hard core aerobics, low impact and step and hip hop student in my late 20′s/early 30′s and I am unable to take classes now due to post surgery, I know you offer excellent classes and look forward to taking them. Now that I am in my late 40′s ,I appreciate the smaller, higher quality, personal, hassle free environment Breakthru provides. Your membership prices as well as the parking is a real bonus. Also I love that Breakthru has 2 “feels” to it, the nice, airy, pleasant upscale, high end look as well as the more hard core feel in the Parisi area. I guess I just want to say I am extremely pleased to be a member of your gym and will spread the word!!! I also must say I love that I can work out while the kids are. I absolutely Love Breakthru !! ( sorry this is so long )
i joined because of Steve Mackel who is also my running coach. most of the time i am only there to go to my Wed. night 6:30pm spin class. I would love to try pilates, but the times seem to only fit around a person that works from home or is a stay at home parent. that’s discouraging. also, i would love to be able to attend the Parisi Speed School to help wth my fast twitch muscles for triathlon and marathon, but there aren’t any classes for that either
Breakthru is a very well run, reasonably priced fitness club.  The amenities are on par with other high end fitness clubs, such as Equinox Fitness, while the monthly fees are more reasonable.  The customer service is always very good, and the facilities are very clean and modern.
I think it’s a great club, very committed in delivering quality. Very good spinning instructors.
like the club, smaller version of equinox but much friendlier, without the attitude.  would love to see an exanded class schedule.  feel you’re very limited in weekend options. the staff is great, friendly, helpful and always available. love the location, easy parking and great hours.
I think the club is great.  I have not been in the last couple of months because of my schedule.
I really like the club
Of call the gyms I’ve joined over the years, this is hands-down the best. I hope we get to stay in Pasadena longer only so I can stay at Breakthru forever–the best classes, staff, etc.
I think its awesome!  I love the schedule, especially that it’s on the half house since I have children and drop offs are on the hour. The quality of the classes is fantastic.  The instructors are top notch and inspiring. I am thoroughly pleased.
I love the club and the atmosphere and the staff is great.  It is perfect for my needs.  I only wish there were bigger discounts for purchasing personal training sessions in bulk.
I love the club. The location is perfect. Free convenient parking is such a luxury. The gym is beautiful and well run. The front staff are always polite even when swamped with people checking in. The classes are amazing and worth the membership right there. I have really started to see a difference in my body, my mood and my outlook since I started going regularly.
So glad that you opened up in Pasadena. I love the club.
I think the gym is exactly what I hoped for – great classes, instructors, equipment and a low key place for me to work out and see familiar faces (not a scene thankfully).
I very much like the owners and their combined expertise and professionalism.  I have great respect for the trainers and physical therapist.I also like the staff and the overall atmosphere of the gym, feels like a family fun center.
I know so many people on staff and clients it’s always a pleasure to show up.  I feel so welcome.
Kanda is the main reason I am a member. she is so caring and goes out of her way to help, I feel that going to another gym would be cheating on her. I have had sessions with 3 trainers there. Cesar and Scott are Amazing. Front desk is friendly and attentive and the place is always perfectly clean. I love this gym, I would love it more if it had a steam room.
Location is good; equipment is excellent.
You’re doing a great job; please stay focused on your regular, re-newing members, not attracting new contracts.  This is where EQUINOX definitely failed, and lost my 7 yr membership.
Michelle is great as a class instructor and overall owner/manager. I would appreciate more instruction on how to use the machines, e.g. maybe someone who is available on the floor to demonstrate. If there is such a person, I’m not aware of it.
The club is fantastic.  The only issue I have is accessibility and availability of towels – seems to be an issue that’s created too often. Please also add a roman chair!  And thank you for adding the two little chairs outside the classrooms…not the best fix, but better than it was.You and your staff flat out rock.  I’m in better shape coming to you than I ever was at equinox!!
I enjoy going there. It’s very friendly and low key. great club. great instruction
I like the cleanliness first and foremost.  I like the equipment.  I like the locker room.  I am not getting to use the classes because the times are either early morning or night and that is not good for moms with kids.  The classes that are later on are yoga and pilates….I would like aerobic classes at those times.
The club is beautiful and well set up.  The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The dues is high, but at least it keeps the riff-raff out.  I like the fact that it’s never overcrowded and very rarely do I have to wait to use equipment.  I LOVE my personal trainer (Suzanne Toy)..she kicks my butt every time I work out with her. Every work out is different, so I don’t get bored.   I wish I could afford to see her more than once a week. I have tried the classes and they are great, however, some of the times don’t work for me.  I should work them into my schedule more. Wish the gym was open a little later on Fridays and Weekends.  I love both Michelle & Phil and think they’ve done amazing job.
I have not tried the gym, but my son loves the parisi speed school. It will be hard to do many classes during the school season, but a low price daily rate would be great to have.
Great club that appeals to all ages that want a serious work out.
The club exceeds my expectations.
I really love Breakthru and recommend it as a gym to people all the time.  I would love to see a little more variety in instructors or in instructor’s classes.  Some people forget to change music or seem to fall back on the usual routine rather than thinking about new and different moves and music in a reasonable amount of time.  I understand burn-out and am not sure what can be done about it, but sometimes it seems that folks are in that place.
so far we like the parisi school, the classes and the instructors they seem very energetic and know their subject matter.
The club is great.  Also, would you consider offering a “family fitness” class – where families can come and work out together?  Do activities similiar to Parisi Speed School, but make it family friendly so parents and children can get involved together(?)
love it. Love the locker rooms–very clean, private shower stalls and the staff is great all around.
I really like the friendliness of your staff, and especially your openness to feedback.  I think it makes the biggest difference when feedback is requested and utilized.  As mentioned above, I also love the early morning classes.  That is the sole reason I joined and if they went away or were reduced dramatically, I would quit the gym.  Also, I love the location.
So far, I like to workout there but I would like to see more classes.
I think that it is a very clean club.  I like that it is not overcrowded.  The parking is great.
I like the club a lot – clean inside, not too crowded, and friendly people inside.
I enjoy the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of this club. I always feel very comfortable coming in for my workout. I love the fact that I don’t have to wait for any workout machines (so far).
I love that it is always clean, the staff helpful and remembers my by name, the class schedule is great and POWER and CIRCUIT are amazing.
Marti Jo’s yoga class is terrific, but I wish it was a little later in the day (like a lunch hour class like Rachel’s).
The club provides a comfortable place to work out and meet my fitness goals.  The staff is supportive bot not intrusive - it is everything I want in gym.
I love the fact that the club is not crowded. It has a quiet and serene atmosphere. I like to see the kids working out – starting them young is great!  It’s nice to see the owners - Michelle and Phil – in the club. It shows they care and it’s a locally-owned club, not a huge corporation.
The staff is very courteous, professional, and friendly.  The club is clean and is never so crowded that I can’t get my workout done – which is really important to me.  There is a lot of equipment to choose from so I don’t get bored.  Classes are plentiful and instructors are good to great (see my feedback on dance classes above – that is the exception for me).  Personal training has been a good experience – different than training I have had in the past but in a good way.  The clientele is friendly and there isn’t that sense of “being checked out” or “competition” that I have experienced at other high end Pasadena clubs and hated.  The ladies locker room is neat and clean.  It can get a bit crazy in there but no a deal breaker – just some feedback.  Keep up the good work.  Thanks for being different. We needed this in Pasadena!
The club staff is friendly and the classes are not intimidating to beginners. I think it is great!
The club is always well kept and the staff is great!  I would lke to see more options as far as packages for personal training.  Perhaps larger numbers of sessions at a lower rate.
My suggestions are really a Christmas list.  I am very happy with Breakthru Fitness and feel I have found a new “home” for my exercise life after PAC. Thank you, Michelle and Phil
Its a great club.  Would like to find out more about the group pilates equipment classes.
Light and bright (love the big windows and views).  Never crowded.  Many options to exercise (group classes, weight machines, free weights, cardio machines, pilates, stretching area, etc.)  Always clean.  Absolutely love Zumba with Augustine and Group Power with Michelle.  The childcare center is invaluable – without it, I probably would not have joined.  Parking is easy.  Being next to Trader Joe’s is convenient for snacks or errands afterwards.  Like that I can bring my older child to Parisi while I work out on my own
Overall, I love the club and generally look forward to working out, which is a real change of experience for me from past gym memberships.
I love Breakthru.  It is the best club I have belonged to.  A lot of attention is given to keeping the classes interesting and encouraging me to get there and try different things.
It is excellent and the teachers are great.
love the family feel, the no-gimmicks approach, the fact that it’s not a scene.
The club is a good value.  The cost to features is fair.  I believe the club is well positioned in the market to complete, even though it is new and a little unproven.  I am overall satisfied and pleased I joined.  i would recommend to friends if asked.
The Club is what it is as a result of the amazing and knowledgeable instructors.
I love the club,Its one of the best gyms that Ive ever been to..The group classes are amazing, the instructors are very motivating, nice, outgoing, and very good at what they do..Im very happy with the results that  i am getting so far
Your club is a welcome addition and has raised the level of what a club should be.
Great size and location. Keep it small and personal
Breakthru is fantastic and it’s been exciting to see Phil’s vision for the new club succeed in every way!  The staff is the best ever, and you won’t find a more professional club anywhere.
professional, friendly and clean
I think the club is great.
I think the variety of classes is very good, particularly having Michelle back teaching step (or anything else for that matter).  It’s nice to have a good gym with a professional staff that doesn’t have an attitude.
It is great.  I didn’t think I could get motivated to loose weight again, but you guys made it happen!
The cleanliness is wonderful.  The ladies dressing area is very nice.  It is extremely important and useful that you have physical therapists on staff.  Both my husband and I have seen Dr. Lee — he is amazing.
I am amazed at how clean the club is and how friendly the staff is!  I love the fact that I never have to wait in lines to use the equipment and that the atmosphere is so inviting and relaxed.
I think it’s a beautiful gym. I only go to Phil’s classes.  That was the only reason I joined.  I’ve tried a few other classes, but haven’t found any that I like yet.
I love the smaller feel of the club, the personal feel.  I used to train at your other studio so it’s nice to see familiar faces.  I love the convenient locations, easy parking and I can even get my grocery shopping done next door.  I would like to see some boot camp like classes, have you thought about doing something like that?  Rotating people through the gym maybe?  Also, how about an intro to spinning class.  I haven’t really done much spinning before and I am kind of intimidated to just start going to a regular class.  Keep up the great work, I’m enjoying the gym.
I would like the trainers to occasionally ask members if they can suggest a new exercise or routine without taking sessions. This shows interest in the members and gives us ideas about who we might use for training in the future. A few maintenance issues: is the mens weight scale accurate? Many of the treadmill heart monitors are not working or disabled.
I love Breathru and have recommended to 2 friends who have both joined.  It is a very comfortable environment with a neighborhood feel and friendly people.  As mentioned above, I would love to take more classes (Hip Hop, Pilates) but they are not offered at times that work on my schedule.
I love Breakthru Fitness! My wife and I come primarily for the various classes, particularly Power and Circuit. The group classes are motivating, and we find ourselves wanting to come more often than if we just did workouts on our own.We have also found that every staff member we have encountered has been unfailingly polite, enthusiastic, and helpful.
I love the club.  The friendly, no hassel staff was the initial reason why I joined.  The only issues I have are that it is always really hot in the workout area (it’s actually uncomfortable to run on the treadmills because of this) & the tv’s are placed in such a way that you cannot see them if you’re on a treadmill.  I think you should move some of the treadmills back to accommodate. Thanks!
IT’s friendly, well managed, has a wide selection of fitness choices, excellent personal trainers
I love the people and the atmosphere – friendly but professional. The staff are great and very helpful. It is very clean and the classes are excellent
I like it very much. It’s been hard to make the payments. I need something less costly. It is the cleanest gym I have ever been to. It is spotless. I love the equipment. None of the equipment is ever broken.
I think most of your instructors are excellent and professional.  The front desk is almost always attentive.  The club is clean and seems well managed.
Clean, helpful and pleasant staff. I really like the spin classes but only am able to be there at the 6:30 pm time slot and there are only two a week at that slot –
professional, clean, alive, modern, results oriented, friendly
Love the club. Great staff and classes!
I love this club.   I would be using it more, but I’ve had a couple of surgeries to contend with.  Now that I’m almost finished with that, I plan to workout more often.   As I mentioned above,  I would love it if there were some group classes in the afternoons at least one or two days a week.
I think that the club is great.
Staff very friendly. Really great unpretentious and professional atmosphere. Excellent cleanliness, great towel service, and excellent toiletry amenities in locker rooms.  Choice of classes more interesting and varied than other places. Would be great to move or add some classes to a later morning slot (6:30am or 7am) for people who are working but don’t want to get up at 5:30am to get to a class or at 7pm for folks working but cannot leave work at 5:30pm to get to a class.
Its beautiful, clean and great staff. Would love some 8 am classes.
i like the club very much. i enjoy the classes. i only wish more classes were offered throughout the day.
Love it!  Childcare is much more expensive than my other club so I don’t go as much as I would if the price was less.  Also not sure what to do with 9-11 year olds.
I am very satisfied with the club.
I am so happy that I joined.  After PAC closed I wanted to join another club but I wasn’t really interested in the “chain” clubs.  And as nice as I’m sure Equinox is, the price was too prohibitive for my budget. Breakthru Fitness was an answer to my prayers.  I am so grateful.  The classes are great and so versatile, catering to every one’s level of ability. And I love the location because I can walk there. I can’t say enough about my satisfaction.
Love the neighborhood feel and look.  Desire to support a local business owners who care about the health of the community; they are terrific.
i love it and have recommended it to others – the caring and positive atmosphere are the best
I have only been in a couple of times.  I am currently awaiting ACL surgery and therefore am limited to the gym.  But in the couple of times that I have been in the gym everyone has been friendly and courteous.
The facility, instructors and staff are wonderful.  At this point everything is fine with me except adding a class or two in the evening at i.e 7 or 7:30 p.m.  The price is a concern if the membership fees increase after the first year.
Breakthru Fitness has been the best fitness experience that I have had. I am a definite “gym rat” and I feel that I am finally reaching the results I want after all these years with the mixture of wonderful classes, equipment, and personal training.
This is the best health club that I have ever belonged to.  I have been a gym member for 24 years.
very friendly and clean.  Suggestion: extend weekend hour. close at 5pm is too early.
I am very please with the Club.  Both of the owners are attentive to the members and to the Club.  The staff is very helpful.
Friendly staff, excellent instructors, clean facility wide range of classes
Basically, the club is great and the trainers are professional.  The classes could be more attentive to teaching the required skills and less concerned with being a showcase.  As a participant, I do not mind if the teacher has to repeat something that I already know if repeating it will help a new person.
Nice intimate club.  Differentiation should be the classes so an emphasis here is important to grow.
Great classes, great staff and great clientele…
i like the fact that Michelle and Phil go out of their way to ask questions of their clients and ask for feedback on their classes in order to make it a better place.
I really like the entire experience, great classes and instructors.  It is a perfect way to start the day and to get in shape.
The club itself is beautiful, clean, and complete with the latest equipment.  But the reason I love Breakthru is because of a positive energy that lives in the space.  There seems to be an infections chain-of-enthusiasm amongst that staff that motivates me and keeps me coming back for more.  A company can have great people and not have this energy though.  There is something intangible about Breakthru and the fact that the sum is more than the total of the parts . . . it’s spirit.
To date I haven’t experienced any difficulties getting into a group fitness class or on a piece of equipment due to over-crowdedness.  I hope that doesn’t change.  With regards to equipment (question 13) Breakthru Fitness has some of the best equipment. However, inner and outer thigh equipment would be great!
The atmosphere is great – a wonderful vibe.  Knowledgeable and friendly owners make it a fantastic place to work out.
Great classes.  Motivating instructors.  Good hours.
I joined because of the friendly / service oriented atmosphere at your previous location where I was a guest of another personal trainer.  I love the variety of your schedule and am working on increasing the number of times I come per week.
“BCBG” That is the French abbreviation for the club membership. You will figure out what it means.
Love the club! Came from 24Hour Fitness and this is a huge step up in quality of classes and cleanliness of facility. Worth the extra $!!  Spinning classes are wonderful, love the group power and verticore pilates also.
I love the whole feel of the club.  The people are great, both the staff and other members.  Everyone has been welcoming and helpful. I enjoy the classes.  I was concerned about the parking, but it has never been an issue.
I love it.  Childcare is great – my kids are safe and have fun while we are there.  It’s a very positive experience for everyone. The classes are fantastic, staff friendly and nice.
I work with a personal trainer all the time and that’s great, but I’d like to see the club promote the combining of personal training, an individual training plan and group classes for a better overall and  less expensive workout schedule.
I like it–not crowded, which is important. I only live in Pasadena part-time so I am only at the club for a few days, but I enjoy it.
Love the staff, the space, the classes. Love Petra’s step class and Michelle’s circuit on Monday night. Would love to have more of these classes or a kickbox class with Yalda back in the gym.
Love it!
I think the club is great.
I love the club. You all have made a huge difference in my life. I can’t thank you enough!! Here’s my last plea for 5:30 Am classes.
I’ve really enjoyed being a member. After 2 years of inactivity, I’m finally excited about working out since joining, and I look forward to going to a class daily. My work schedule changes in the fall, though, and so I’m really hoping there might be some additional classes (7, 7:30, or 8am or 8:30pm or later Saturdays). Otherwise I may not be able to attend enough for my membership to be worthwhile, and I would be really sad about that!
I think this club is as good as it gets.  I’ve belong to PAC as well as some of the others and this one will be my club as long as it maintains where it is at.
It is a great atmosphere where people are excited to be there, yet it doesn’t feel like people go just to look good for others.  You get the sense that members work out because they want to.  The instructors are amazing and every group class has a lot to offer. Love my gym!
I am very comfortable here, the staff is great and the members are all quality people.
It’s good – not a “scene”, equipment is good ( bosus too soft often) and well maintained.  Instructors are motivating and professional.
I love the caring, friendly and knowledgeable staff.  I think it would be great if there were a monthly nutrition/workout planning class.  I also love the classes taught by Michelle, Kanda and Phil.  I wish they could teach group classes more often!  I think that the group fitness schedule is cutting edge and exciting – it is nice to NOT see the same old boring cardio workouts but to see things like Zumba, Hip Hop, Group Power.  I would love to see more Yoga and to see more classes on the weekends.  I’d also like to see more strength training and spin classes offered in sequence so that there are multiple time options for those who need more options because of work.  Would it still be possible to have a sauna or steam room?  That would be fantastic!
I like that it is not crowded.
